BA Shakespeare society

Kel Ediciones is proud to launch the BA SHAKESPEARE SOCIETY, a reading group devoted to the analysis of Elizabethan and Jacobean theatrical masterpieces.

Mr. Denis Horan will be providing some necessary background and some
running commentary as we follow each text line by line.

When William Shakespeare puts into Cordelia’s mouth the word “nothing”, he is in fact letting us know that this is a play about noting -as the word was pronounced back then – or noticing things.

King Lear’s most beloved daughter will point out that her sisters are barefaced liars when they say they love their father that much because, if that had been the case, they wouldn’t be marrying. In other words, they are simply flattering their old man in order to increase their dowries.
Our reading group will try to notice as many things as possible regarding this most catastrophic of tragedies.
